How to count days between dates

  1. Choose the start date. It starts at today.
  2. Choose the end date. The answer updates as soon as you change either date.
  3. Tick "Include the end date" if both the first and the last day should count, such as for a hotel stay quoted in days rather than nights.

Going backwards works too: put the later date first and you get the same number of days.

Questions

How do I count the days between two dates?
Pick a start date and an end date. The calculator subtracts them and shows the number of days, plus the same span in weeks, months and weekdays.
Does the count include the end date?
By default the end date is not counted, the same way you would count nights or the days until a deadline. Tick "Include the end date" to add one day, for example when counting days worked.
How are weekdays counted?
Weekdays are Monday to Friday after the start date, up to and including the end date. Use the business days calculator to also skip public holidays.
Does it handle leap years?
Yes. Every calendar day is counted exactly, including February 29 in leap years.
